Moving further south to Palawan island lies another captivating wonder – the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site features an underground river that stretches for approximately eight kilometers through a limestone cave before flowing directly into the sea. Exploring this subterranean river reveals awe-inspiring rock formations illuminated by natural light filtering through openings above ground. In addition to natural wonders, there are also man-made structures shrouded in mystique throughout the Philippines. One example is Intramuros in Manila – a walled city built during Spanish colonial rule dating back to the late 16th century.
